The Spireite Ice-cream.
Chesterfield Football Club has been around even longer than Frederick’s, formed in 1866 and moving to its historic Saltergate ground 139 years ago.
A new era in the club’s history dawns this year with the opening of a brand-new stadium at Whittington Moor, where the first games will be played this summer.
To mark the occasion, and the closure of the much-loved Saltergate, Frederick’s is producing a limited edition ice cream launched on the date of the last-ever Football League match at the ground, May 8.
Spireites ice cream, in tribute to the club’s Royal blue and white playing strip, is blue and white, combining the flavours of vanilla and blueberry in what is sure to be a firm favourite with fans and probably everyone else too!
Managing Director John Frederick said: “Our firm has been part of the community in Chesterfield for nine decades and we wanted to add our contribution to marking the momentous move from Saltergate to the new stadium. “
